Default Re-Test Lehigh 40x200XP in from a 1-28 Twist

Gosh! I hate reporting this but since the other day I said Yea and today I need to say Nea! I best tell you what I have found.

Late in Feb - I shot the 40x200 in a 1-28 at 60 yards and all looked very good...

Wednesday I returned to the farm with the same Elite 50 cal. using the same powder load and sabot. The difference was I was now shooting @ 150 yards. The target at 150 showed some de-stabilization. I really wanted to think it was just me. Friday, today I returned to the farm set the target at 170+ yards.

These are pictures of todays result...

I can no longer claim success with the 40x200XP, but as soon as Lehigh runs the shorter 40x185 - the 1-28 shooters will be in like flint...

Mike, I would try 135 and 140 gr Blackhorn the velocity and the RPM are tied together and they appear to be very close to stabilizing.

Lee, I am sure you are correct but most folks will not want to shoot that powder load. The shorter one will work for the people shooting a 1-28
