Best deal on Knight Bloodline 220 gr. bullets this week, in the link below. (20.99 for 20)
I am seriously tempted to make an order for two 20pk boxes. I do not eat Venison, so I am fine with losing a little extra meat, due to the bullet's 6:1 Segmenting Expansion process.

All my deer meat gets donated, usually to the DNR Mio, Michigan station, or rarely to my hunting partner, who usually harvests three deer to my one.

Tom.......I always like to think of the "what if". So, what if you bust through a shoulder first? Would the bullet still create that wound channel compared to an expanded bullet like a Barnes?

Ill let you know in time Muley. Right now I don't know for sure. Ive shot plenty with Barnes of all types threw the shoulders to compare.

I've never lost any meat with a BLoodline bullet. Those 220's are fun to shoot and very little recoil.

Jon just made a post on his forum stating he called the DOW, and they told him the XP isn't legal, because it doesn't expand. This could be true, and i'll check. However, he was also told sabots aren't legal in rifle season, and we know that isn't true. So, I question if the guy he talked to knew what he was talking about.

I have a friend who's a hunt planner there. He'll get to the bottom of this. Although a non expanding bullet may be illegal.

Ok, it's in the works. He'll email the answer to me. He's going to ask the firearms department if a non expanding bullet used in a muzzy during the rifle season is legal.

For a CF gun the bullet needs to expand to be legal. For a muzzy is says nothing about an expanding bullet. So, using a non expanding bullet in a muzzy during the rifle season is a grey area. They'll have to decide if it's legal when asked the question.

I'll post the answer when I get it. It might take a couple of days.

Pete, there are a ton of "Hardcasts" out there that don't expand unless you hit concrete. Never seen anyone get popped for using one of them. I used to have a mix back when I casted my own Connies that didn't even expand on the shoulder of 250 pound Hogs. If THAT won't make a bullet spread, aint much out there will!

In my state you cant even use a Barnes Buster bullet for deer hunting BUT you can use a hardcast. Ive shot hardcast that blew through all my media and buried itself in a tree stump. That media included over 10" of wet media, a thin board and 2 full sized phone books and the bullet barely expanded.

Go figure.

That's true, but I like to stay on the right side of the law. Just in case I run into a grumpy warden.
