That's right. I saw them land on Plymouth Rock.

That's probably all you know about Mass.

There are more black flies than people, and they leave bites that fester, and itch for a month.

I don't remember those, but I do remember the mosquitoes and humidity.

That's why I left Mass 60 years ago.

We spent five days recently touring all the must-sees in Plymouth, Cape Cod and Martha Vineyards. Calling it one of the best vacations we ever engaged in.

We arrived at their makeshift Plantation House when it was about 90 degrees. and a couple teepee conversations we had with in-house villagers there were all about the two worst winters of the Plymouth area, sometime back in 1700s, killing many settlers that arrived.

Man was it hot there that day and every teepee had an outdoors fire burning. A nearby cemetery (Burial Hill) there cooled us off. Lots of shade around some famous name-graves of the 16-1700s. Pretty neat eating a sandwich under a tree near William Bradford's Memorial gravesite.
