How does a o-ring in a primer pocket protect the alloy frame? Tighter head space will cause more wear from closing and opening the action.

This was from 120-150 shots according to the owner.

If anything, it normally scrapes a tiny bit of paint off around the firing pin. Other than that, the frame will stay in perfect shape with the o ring in place and maintained. There's a lot of gap between the primer and frame without the o ring and once that o ring is in place, the primer can no longer launch itself back into the frame.

On your picture, all I see are a bunch of scratches and some dents that aren't even made from a primer.

There is a ring from firing and also scratches from opening/closing the action. The owners solution was to use a layer of masking tape over the anvil cup side of the primer.

Its still my opinion a steel bushing around the firing pin is a far better design. Im not a fan of alloy frames at all especially when you can have a SS frame such as in the Scout V2 at nearly the same weight. Thats a neat little rifle for the price.

yes the finishes can get chipped off during opening and closing. One flaw paint has, it doesn't stick to good when getting hit repeatedly. Of course, if its getting slammed shut, thats another issue.

That just plain sucks. Time to find a better rifle IMO.

i've scoped and sighted in several Buckstalkers for other hunters. The BuckStalker shoots about as good as any other blackpowder gun i've fired.

The breech scratches are minor cosmetic stuff.
