Not that I needed another round ball shooter but I decided to get a dedicated round ball target rifle for short range matches and rendevous type shooting . So I have a Pedersoli Tryon in 54 cal with 1:65 twist , creedmore rear sight and globe front sight with 18 different inserts on order. I will post pics when it shows up and maybe a video of splitting the ball on an axe to break the clay pigeons on each side
The place couldn't ship til the weather breaks . They were closed today because they didn't have any power after the storm . Hopefully tomorrow .

Neat. I've always like the looks of those back action locks.

Very cool.. can't wait to see it and hear your range report.
Out of curiosity, is the avatar you are showing now, from a print by Michael Gnatek? I have several of his prints and it sure looks like his style. But I never saw that particular print.

Confused? That's because you bolt action in-line shooters don't realize there are "round balls" and "Minie balls", which are not round. We sidelock black powder shooters have long been in the habit of specifying round balls for the sake of clarity. If your balls are round, you should say so.

Assume? It was not I who posted "Round Balls" followed by nine question marks.
However, as I think about it I did assume you were questioning the possibility of balls being other than round. But, if not that....What?
Anyway, Mulie has not posted recently so I thought someone should fill in for him and decided I would take a shot at it.
It's a sad sad thing that you haven't used your round balls in the last few years. Have you tried the little blue sabots?
