Depends on rifle but no first shot flier with CVA Apex, Knight Disc Elite, Traditions BuckHunter.

Dry patch, alcohol patch, dry patch, fire 3 primers, load powder/knurled bullet, dry patch


TC Triumph usually 2 inches high on first shot, TC Impact slightly high

CVA Accura, need more range time to determine but first session no first shot flier, second session, 1.5 inches high on first shot, 3rd session next week

I also believe a good cleaning with JB bore paste helps too.

I never considered running a dry patch down the bore after loading the first shot.
You do the same after each shot at the range?
