I had not heard about it. That is down south east of Stevens Point. Funny is, when one one thinks of bear area, they don't think of that. They think of my place. But what we have seen happening in the last few years are bear and wolves have been migrating south in the state. Do to over population in some areas and hunting pressures. And are ending up in places where they have little hunting pressure. Now that would be a monster bear. My brother who lives very far south, said his friend showed him a black bear caught on trail camera just east of his house. He was shocked.

That would be a bear worth hunting for sure.

That is some bear!

I do not mean to sound anti-hunting but what does a person do with a bear that size? Or are they considered predators to be put down for the protection of game animals such as deer, elk, etc.?

Besides being a heck of a trophy, and many body mount a bear that size... which is what I would do. Bear meat is good eating. Although I suspect one that size, you'd be making a lot of sausage and wieners.

If he had a good taxidermist mount that full body, a store like Cabela's or Bass Pro would pay very large money to purchase it.
