I had a miniscus repair when I was 50 by the time I was 55 I replaced the knee. If they give you the option go for the total knee.. Best thing I ever did. But would think twice about doing it again.

Saw my doctor and now have all my clearances. I'm ready for the surgery. I had the surgeon's nurse put me on the cancel list. Now If only someone would cancel, I'll get in early!!! Want to get it over and healed as soon as possible.

One thing I keep thinking of as I get older - Man Maw never told me about all these new aches and pains I wake up with each day.....wondering what the heck did I do now?
That is one thing I would certainly cancel about old age....if I could....but then the no pain thing scares me....not ready.

I also know several who had total knee redo's. Two buddies talked their docs in both knees at once and both are doing fine other than they can not spend much time at all 'kneeling' .....but tcan walk the woods and streams just fine with me as we chase upland birdies....

Hang in there rafsob

If aches and pains are mother natures what of telling me I am alive.. someone tell her, I got the message and don't need reminders or updates. I worked out in the garage yesterday hanging wall board, wiring some stuff, cleaning, trimming in windows... goodness me, I could hardly climb out of bed this morning. That up and down ladder stuff killed my knees.

I ordered one of them Tommie Copper Knee braces you see on TV. Wonder if that will help?

Hope it is soon. Many people back out last minute and you are ready. Had my ankle done 4 days ago, Dr. said it was worse ligament injury she has seen w/ pt still walking. Very high success rate. No pain except crutches, 8 days to next visit/ stiches out. Good luck.

Glad to hear it. And make sure you faithfully follow the physical therapy work. It does work!! The therapies I use in the past is a miracle worker!!!

No, not so lucky. My problem, if it is, is that the Dr. I'm using is the best in the area. He has a lot of people wanting his service. the knee lately is good enough to walk with out the cane now, but still hurts. I can wait, but want to get it done.

I can be impatient at times like this, but can sit all day hunting or fishing and not be bothered!!
