Default Hello, I' m new here

and have a few muzzle loaders and I' m having a lot of fun with them. I have a new CVA Magnum Firebolt with scope which I shoot 295 grain powerbelts with 150 grain, 209 primer fairly accurately at 100 yards with Triple 7. The early season in PA starts in a few weeks and I can' t wait to get my first deer with this rifle. I also have a Traditions Deerhunter flint which I shoot 80 grains of either Clean Shot or Black powder and use a round ball. I love the synthetic stock and the fiber optic sights. This too hits the target at 100 yards with open sights and has assisted me in killing several deer.

Hello everyone and I have so far enjoyed reading some of your posts and look forward to reading more.

I live in Northeastern PA or the Poconos in a small town called Gouldsboro. Where is Johnstown PA near?

Gouldsboro State Park, is in Monroe County but also in Wayne County. With the new wildlife units it is 3D it covers them both. We are about in the middle of the 3D unit so anywhere around there is covered with a Doe permit, which I have 2.

Are you goig to hunt there? I' ve never hunted there myself but have considered doing that this year. Last year I saw the wildest thing. A buck was hit on 507 a thrown onto the other side of the road where another car went over it. When I showed up, all I saw was the bucks head sticking out from under the car.

There are thousands of acres of Game Lands surrounding me but I tend to go into the woods I am most familar with. Also I live next to property that has 460 wooded acres with a 40 acre lake that me and a hunting club use and get deer there every year, but they only hunt buck.

I' m originally from Long Island, West Islip, and moved to PA in ' 95, bought my current house with over 2 acres in ' 96 and love it there.

The rifle range is only a few miles away so I try to keep up my shooting skills starting in August and continuing through the muzzloading and regular seasons.

Do you hunt around there?
