Default Speer 250g .452 GDHP

I a found a box marked reduced at a mom and pop reloading supply store today. They said that was a mistake but they let me have em anyway. Interestingly enough they say Gold Dot on the box but when I looked on Speer's web site, the #4484 number on the box makes them a Deep Curl bullet.
Anyone shoot these at deer and what do you push em with?

I have shot a couple of deer and a lot of paper and dirt with them. They are a very well made bullet and pretty darn strong. The best part the... the Gold Dot/Deep Curl bullets are bonded and have controlled expansion built into them.

A lot of people do not like them because of the deep hollow point - but that actually adds to the design of the bullet.

Here are some 'tortured' Gold Dot/Deep Curls' that I was testing for durability...

I normally shoot, 110-120 grains of T7 with these while hunting.

The first chart is with 100 grains of T7 and the second is with 110 of BH-209

I use MMP HPH-24 in all of my Knights... Harvesters get to hard in the severe cold, but MMP's get to soft in the heat...

I have taken a half dozen deer with them they are very good on terminal performance, I like to use them in thick woods they stop a deer fast. Due to the low BC I do not use them where I expect a long shot [over 150 yards] I load them over 110grains of Blackhorn.

I've only taken 1 deer with this bullet, but it did a great job - lots of expansion and a complete pass-thru on a broadside shot.
