Checked out my 50 cal encore this morning,I think it is ready for the deer season next month.Shot this 6 shot group @100,using the same powder charge and different bullets in 195 grs to 250 grs, from 3 different manufactors.
Started out using the T-7 but got tired of taking the breech plug out to get my patch and ram rod out( still cannot figure out why some of has that problem and some don' t)ended up going back to the good old pyro-select. Using 115 grs of pyro-select.
Group consisted of 2- barnes 195 gr bullet
2-T/C shockwave 200 gr bullets
1- SST 200 gr bullet (only one I had left)
1-T/C shockwave 250 gr bullet.
Think these will work??

Yep, Herman, I think you be ready with that Encore. Nice shooting and some amazing performance given the 55 grain weight variation! Was your hold the same for every shot?
Those SSTs must be some kinda good bullets - have to see how they do on game, eh?
Sorry I missed this before. I STILL have never shot my 209x50. May have to change that soon.

Yes I held dead center, for each shot using a bench rest.Thats what really surprised me,the 250 weighing 50 grs more hit around the same place.
I have 3 other rifles to work on for other people so I don' t know when I will get to shoot mine again before season opens it starts Oct 6.But if I do I want to try the same group again and at 200 yds.I think I can take one up to 200 now just need the deer to corprate.
Hope all of you have good luck the coming season too.
