Well Finally!!!! My son and I got out to do some shooting. It has been a while waiting for some decent weather to shoot in. Today was right around -10'C (14'F), calm and sunny. Perfect shooting weather. We messed around with the 45-70 and his new to him 30-30 first. I then broke out the BLR 308. Sadly the WGR receiver sight is not going to work on it. I cannot get the elevation low enough to use it. So with the modern stuff all done with it was time to break out the old fashion gear.
Todays entrants were the Lyman Great Plains Rifle Flintlock in .50 cal and the other was a Thompson Center Renegade also in .50 cal The Lyman has a Lyman 57 peep sight on it and the Renegade has a TC Peep sight on it.
Here is the TC target. It was shooting way low but I didn't want to bugger up my group by adjusting anything so I left it where it was. I'll fix it up tomorrow.

and here is the GPR. First shot was on a clean barrel and went left. Not sure if that was me or the gun,,,,probably me.

This was shot # 2 and in the black!
