Swiss makes about 60 tons of black powder per year: That includes black blasting powder. There are seven employees who run the old mill. The plant uses water power for some machinery.

There are several granulations of black blasting powder, i think some of those granulations are no longer made. Black blasting powder is still used in quarries; especially granite quarries. Its not glazed with graphite. i have a quantity of black blasting powder that was left in my magazine when an old blaster passed away. Used some awhile back to remove cedar stumps. It was made by Du Pont.

Swiss is a favorite, and IMO the best black powder there is, but it is much more expensive then the other black powders. I think it is the charcoal they use that make it such a superior black powder. When you shoot it, you hate to go back to the other black powders. But me being cheap.. well I shoot a lot of powder and Schuetzen (a.k.a. Graf's and son's, a.k.a. Wano) does me just fine.

True statement but I shoot so little true black nowadays (or anything else for that matter) it's not a hard claim to maintain.
