I was reading another thread and this comment was made:

"Warne doea make a steel one but there seem to be a lot of issues being reported with it."

I just bought Warne 2-piece mounts for my new Remington Genesis. I mounted them with Leupold high rings and all appears OK. I have not yet fired the rifle so I was wondering what are the "issues being reported" regarding Warne mounts? Can anyone explain them? And does anyone have first hand experience?

I think it is all based on how they fit. But I have no experience with them. I purchased my bases for the Genesis at Traditions Arms and the rings too. They have worked perfect. That is all I can tell you.

I have used Warne steel bases for many years on different rifles and never have had a problem with them when the are installed correctly.

I had one person come in and complain about them, I checked them out he had the on in reverse the front in back and the back one in front . They were just fine after I switched them around and sighted in the gun for him.

I have Warne Quick Detach rings and bases on my White Super 91 and Ithaca Deerslayer II. I also have Warne scope rings and mounts on my two Kimber rifles. I consider Warne rings and mounts the best made.

I made that post, so I should have explained a little better. Warne makes great products and I think most of us know that. The Warne base for that particular T/C muzzle loader is the one I was referring to. There seem to be some issues with how it mounts and scopes that don't have a lot of internal adjustment seem to be running out of adjustment before they are zeroed. This doesn't seem to happen to everyone, and this is the only gun I've ever heard of having an issue with a Warne mount. While I wouldn't say Warne is the best, only because there are companies such as Seekins, Badger, etc, in general Warne makes very good stuff and I wouldn't hesitate to use them.
