Got my dad and brother out on the range today at 100 and 150 yards. Took some doing to get my dad Apex on because I drilled out the breech plugs flash channel to 5/32" and it put that first and second shot up HIGH. Adjusted down with a shim under the front sight, adjust to the right and after a while we got her as good as it will get with open sights. He was able to keep them under 2" so thats good IMO for 64 year old eyes.
My brother took his gun and with Thors "sighted in with powerbelts" was 2" to the right and a good 9" high! That was a bit worrisome until i adjust the sights and bam! Almost center at 6 Oclock.
I took a shot with my Wolf and drop it ALMOST into the same hole my brother had just shot. I was happy as heck with that.
Took my dad and brother and let them shoot 150 yards. My brother was almost dead center and 3" low. Exactly what I figured it would be with his gun being set for dead on at 100.
My dads Apex is 3 1/2" high at 100 and so it was dead on at 150 but just 1 1/2" to the right. I think he just needs some more practice, Plus the target was in some real bright sun and that even screws me up for precision shooting.
Overall, we are ready to get to elk country and hopefully find one to put on the table. If not an elk, a scruffy lil doe will do the job to. Praying for elk though! LOL
