Default PA Conicals

Have any of you guys tried the Hornady .50 caliber PA Conicals in a 1:28 barrel?

No, not in a 1-28 twist barrel. I have shot them out of 1-66 twist barrel. When I think of them, I think of them as an over grown roundball.

That they are. But they have a significant weight advantage - 240 grains for the PA conical vs. 177 grains for the round ball.

The might work with a moderate to light powder charge. If your hunting close to moderate range they might work. My Knight LK shoots roundball real well with 50 grains of powder.

What Cayugad said. These projectiles were made for hunting the PA primitive season when initially on PRBs were allowed and a lot of guys were using slow twist barrels. They came out the same time as T/C's PA Hunter with a 1:66 twist and Pa changed the laws to allow any projectile.

I understand the history and the principle. Was just wondering if anyone had actually tried them in a 1:28. Evidently no one has. Damn, another thing for my to do list. I wonder just how fast you can push them in a 1:28.

I've shot them successfully from a 1-48. I'm interested to see how they shot for you.
