I was thinking that the move to allow 1x scopes would be a good thing. Well it probably would be but I'm not sure it will be better for me. With the peep sight the ring is blurry but that doesn't matter . Unfortunately with the 1x scope the reticle lines are blurry , which is a big deal. It doesn't matter which way I adjust the focus , it stays blurry . I let my wife look through it and it is perfectly clear. I finally figured out the problem. I wear tri-focals. If I look through the middle it is in focus. But I can't do that when my face is against the stock. I have to literally move my glasses up to see through that section of the lenses. The only solution would be to get glasses just for shooting that have the prescription of my middle section of the trifocals. That won't happen so my wife will probably get a 1x scope and I will probably stay with a peep unless I can figure this thing out. I will keep trying to find a solution. Any ideas?

Have you tried the old tape trick? Take some paper and with a paper punch, punch a nice round hole in it. Then set the paper over the dominate eye you shoot with. Make sure the hole in the paper is centered in the part of the lens that you look through for clear vision and the paper blocks the part of the lens that makes it fuzzy. Then you are looking through a very defined area and the cross hairs should be clear and the lens clear also. You can train your eye to this pretty easy.

I have a friend that has a clip on pair of sun glasses and he drilled a hole in the one lens and with paint blacked out the rest of the lens. He clips that on his glasses and he shoots long range. He also wears trifocals. I did not know that would do that to the lens part of the scope.

Also, see if you can adjust the scope to your eye without glasses. I that works you would have to take the glasses off to make a shot, or push them up to your forehead. But that wouldn't be too big a deal if the scope is clear without them.

I tried that. Thats how I shoot with my 9x scope but it doesnt work with the 1x

Problem solved!!! I just got back from the P.O. And I received the Nikon 1x20 from a forum member. It will focus just fine with glasses off. I am assuming it is because of eye relief distance. Whatever it is doesn't matter. I use the Nikon and the wife gets the simmons and we can both see.

The world is a blurry mess for me. Up close or far away. The only time everything is clear is when I look through a scope that's adjusted for my eye.

Probably because it was a Simmons. Sorry but I nver had any luck with them.

I have to agree. i only got it because it was practically given to me by a friend. I would never buy a Simmons. I am a dedicated Nikon kinda guy.
