Default A bit bummed lately

I received a call from my cousin the other day that his brother is in serious condition in the hospital. He went in last Saturday.
Its sad to see a good man with a kind heart who only a couple of years ago was a strong strapping guy become broken down into such a frail person. We spent many days together in the mountains and our cabin and I have countless memories - all good.
I've driven the 150 miles or so round trip Wednesday and Yesterday to spend some time with him in his last few days here on earth. Said a few prayers with him and consoled him when he bacame emotional.
It just goes to show you that God can take us whenever HE wants us. It doesn't matter how much money you have or how many guns or other material things you have.
I say this to all my friends here - Do what you want, when you want to do it. You never know when it's your turn to be called.

I understand how you feel. I had a great friend that suddenly passed away. It was one of those things where we talked one week. During which he mentioned he had stomach pain. A short time later he was in the hospital for tests. Then I get a call from his brother asking if I could be a pall bearer. I had a terrible time excepting his death. It just did not seem fair. And I guess we really have no clue as to when our time is up. So I resigned myself to only remember the good times we had and not to dwell on the bad. I wish you and your family the best at times like these.

Sorry for your grief Bronko. Life can be tough now and then, and all we can do is be thankful for the good times.

I know what you are feeling my friend. I have just recently lost a good friend and hunting buddy to Mesothelioma. Great man, great hunter & awesome friend. I miss him dearly. Be strong for yourself and him. Remember & cherish the good times. God bless.
