I have a camo stocked Nickel barrel 50 cal Optima Pro coming in next week. First of all I cannot believe how hard it was to find this gun. Absolutely NO ONE has it around where I live. Even Gander Mountain told me they could not promise to have one in by ML season..........and that 4 MONTHS from now!!!!!
ANYWAYS.........
Any recommendations on scopes, powder, loads, bullets etc would be greatly appreciated. This is my first muzzleloader and I am not clueless but really just know the basics.
I am open to any and all advice............Thank you in advance.
Right now I am planning to try Powerbelts with Pyrodex pellets but not sure what a good grain for either should be for my starting point.

Poster Loggy on another site just reported fantastic groups with 348 AT Powerbelts. Buy both pellet-packs, the 50s & 30 grainers. That way you can tweak your powder load better i.e.. 80 - 90 - 100 - 110 -120 if necessary. Another bullet to consider is the T/C Shockwaves in 250 or 300 grains. If your budget is tight, buy a 50-pk of Hornady .452 cal 300 grainers for around $10 in the centerfire reloading section of gun stores -- then buy a 50-pk of MMP 50/.450-.452 plastic sabots for around $6.95. I heard good reports on the T' Cs & Hornadys also.
