Default Hunting the back yard?

Should be able to in a couple years! I planted buckwheat March 27th and i must have gone to deep with it because its finally lifting the soil and popping out in great number!

These guys were at the water station yesterday as well. They feed in our front yard on the grass thats growing, then walk by the house on the trail i bulldozed last fall, which is 30 yards away from the back porch!

The bigger beefier deer i THINK is that 5x5 from last year, im dying to see what he sprouts on his head this summer.

I'll take some pictures of the buckwheat tomorrow. Most of it is covered in a skimming of hay to help keep moisture but its coming up through it real good.

Very cool.. them deer always seem to take the path of least resistance when they move through the woods. It was snowing today, so I took a walk in the woods to look at tracks. And 80% of the tracks I saw were on my skid trails.

That bigger heavy deer looks like a nice size deer. What do you guess one like that would weigh?

boy thats really hard to tell, i never learned how to judge the weight.

Not the greatest picture of him but it shows his front shoulders pretty good. He looks bigger in person, i've seen him as close as 30 yards when i walked on him last year when i was shooting.

I don't know when your last frost date date is but I was always told that Buckwheat wont tolerate a frost. I intend to plant about 2 acres of it on a small field I have but I'll probably wait until late May. My average last frost here in the mountainous part of Northcentral Pa. is aorund Memorial day. Not to be nosey but what did you pay per lb. for the seed??

Buckwheat makes a good upland game plot. Its drought tolerant. Hope you get that big guy next fall.
