Just curious of what the average age of those out there shooting a muzzleloader. If you don't want to give exact age you can say over or under a certain age. With hunting license sales declining through the years I was wondering if younger people have the interest and dedication to shooting muzzleloaders.

I think most hunters come into muzzleloader hunting to have an extra season to hunt, and buy inlines.

I'm 69.

I think that might be the problem with the younger or new hunters. Unless they have a mentor that teaches them about the enjoyment and fundamentals of black powder, a lot of them stick to high power. I think it can be intimidating to someone new to shooting about how to get started with a muzzleloader. That is why I am glad to be a part of a forum that has so many experienced shooters who are willing to share their knowledge.

Muley, how many time did you have to your shoe'sn & off to come up with your AGE.

Maybe a mandatory muzzleloader safety class would be a good idea?

Is that covered in the regular safety classes?

I'm 43. Most hunters i know use muzzleloaders for extended season only. The trend seems to be WSM cartridges or it ain't enough gun!

Oh, I only have 2 muzzleloaders.

Jonny, I love sitting nexted to the centerfire boys with the ML and compare targets. They have a hard time believing a ML can shoot as good or if not better that there centerfires.
