You could always go with a slightly larger diameter screw.

How about a helicoil fro the hardware store that would at least put some metal in the threads. Pluckit was that video made with a lidcam, sure looked like it Ive yet to get a good recording of a shot with bow especially (couple of deer kills this year cam aim off and no shot hit recorded) with it on a hat.

Yes, it was a on an EPIC camera on a hat clip. I neglected to do it but here's what you need to do. Put the camera on your hat at home and take some video aiming at something at the expected shooting distance and check the recording to see if the camera's aim is ideal then don't touch it again until you shoot. I'll be sure to do it before the next range trip and give the video thing another try.
