considering how most of these new breech plugs are 2" long, they are just adding some extra barrel to give you a full 28"s

Nobody. I thought we were talking about all muzzleloaders.

Somebody forgot to tell CVA. The MR is 25". Do you think it will be less accurate?

It's a gimmick Jon.

MR is meant to be built small and light weight.

I know, but you didn't answer the question. Will it be less accurate than the V2? Is the Optima less accurate than the V2. Do you think a 30" V2 will be more accurate than the 28"?

Stop being Mr Obvious.

My traditions Pennsylvania rifle is 57 inches long. I bet the barrel is 42 or so. I need to measure it.

I shoot real black powder in my inlines. And then some days the wild hair pops up and I shoot sub powders. All depends on my mood.

The advantage of the 30 inch barrel is a more complete burn of powder with magnum loads. Although I believe a 28 or even a 26 inch barrel will do the same. It would be a long devil to carry around but I am sure you'd get used to it.

Although its probably another gimmick to catch the unsuspecting muzzleloader shooter in to thinking they have bigger and better.
