A very nice looking MLer! Excuse my ignorance but Im guessing it's a Knight? I like the looks of the one in the picture on the right, wich one is that?
I prefer a longer heavier MLer, Im 6'6" and 240+lbs so I need a big heavy gun to fit me, it just feels better in hand that way. Again if this is a Knight wich one is it? how much do they cost and is this one still on the market and available?

That is one sweet gun. I can't wait to see you shoot a deer at 300 with it

That sure is purdy. I'm definitely interested in seeing you stretch it out a bit. I'm sure it can do it.

I went to the knight web site and it kept crashing, finally I got to see what I needed to and really like the looks of the (mountaineer forrest green straight) Now I see you can use either a (bare primer) or a (full plastic jacket) and I suppos it has to be ordered this way for each option or can you use either option on the same MLer? Also what are the advantages or dis-advantages to either option?
Now befor I drop this kind of cash is the knight all it's cracked up to be accuracy wise, or are you mostly paying for an all american made MLer with a nice fancy wood stock?
Im just trying to justify the added cost where my Accura shoots great out to 200yds, I guess what Im trying to say is the knight just a fancy nice made MLer that will just be as good as the half the price Accura Im now in love with? I dont need to look good while hunting and impress anyone, I just need to impress the target and the deer.

PM Mike he can tell you everything you want to know about the rifle. if your happy with what you have, then stick with it. i personally wouldn't buy a mountaineer for various reasons. one of the main reasons is the weight, where we hunt it's extremely steep country. and there are times when i have to bone and pack an animal out.that and the fact i ain't gettin any younger personally if i was in the market for a rifle that new CVA mountain rifle would get a hard look from me. light weight, adjustable trigger.i feel that rifle will be a huge seller, for those reasons.i like my break action muzzle loader rifles.

We also have steep rough country to hunt where I live, deep ravines ect. Like I mentioned above somewhere I prefer a heavier rifle as Im Big and Tall, it just fits me better. I just turned 50 this past Dec 31st but during the last day of our hunting season this year I still managed to drag a buck back to my truck with my accura 1 1/2 miles, it felt good. I realize ssome hunt bigger animals than whitetails, if I had Elk to hunt then I bet ya I'd go for a lighter Mler.
Im just picking everyone's bones on this one, I have the urge to get a new mler but I dont know what it will be as of yet. I have'nt seen the new CVA mountain rifle yet but being a CVA shooter I'll check it out.
I'll follow the post on the knight mountaineer and see what everyone has to say, and your right if I like what Im now using than why change....but you all know the urge to buy something new....still way undecided.

BP I will tell you what I like about my Mountaineer. First off, I'm a Knight fan, I have owned several other brands (not going to mention names here because that will get a debate going) and have not had near the problems with a Knight that I have with others. I love the bolt action over the break actions. I feel they are tighter and less slop. I don't mind the extra weight at all, it actually balances a lot better for me. I seem to hold it a lot steadier than I do light rifles. The accuracy has been superb for me. I can put a 5 shot group under an inch at a 100 yards with 120gr of BH 209 and a 300gr Lehigh with a Win 209 primer. The details in the stock and barrel/action are second to none. I just enjoy the gun tremendously.
