Knight is not currently offering a 45 right now. There will be 45's in Knights 2012 line up for sure. The most accurate 45 right out of the box is the Knight Disc Elite. If you can find one buy it, you won't regret that. All it will need is a Lehigh conversion and your set for life.

Thats easy if you want a break action.

Encore/ProHunter with a SMI Douglas or BullBerry Pacnor 45cal barrel. You just need deep pockets and a little patience. You wont be limited to using subs and can use smokeless to get the full benefit from a 45 at ranges over 200 yards.

You can save a few dollars and just buy the frame and send it to SMI to fit the Douglas barrel. Total cost that way should be close to $700-800.

Mines a Savage/Pacnor 45cal with a Super Match grade barrel that easily reaches 2700fps with a 200gr bullet. Unfortunately they are quite expensive to build and quite heavy. You can build one on a Remington action and a McGowen barrel for under a grand though.

Since you said you want to push the limits, these are all proven platforms and very lethal out to at least 300 yards with a lot of practice.

The best rifle for me in my opinion is a Knight Extreme .50 cal.
