Make sure to give your answer for flintlocks too.

Subs work great in those funny looking inlines.

I shoot both inlines (209 ignition and cap ignition) and sidelocks with cap ignition. I shoot basically one powder T7.. but when shooting caps I shoot T7-3f.

In the one sidelock that I had I shot GOEX... I no longer have the Rock Sparker.

I prefer T7 to all other powders because of it energy and consistentcy + price vs the other top sub.

The first sub I ever tried was T7 out of a CVA Optima Pro. And it worked quite well. I've since stopped using T7. I do use Pyrodex RS and P out of my sidelock percussion rifles if it shoots well. Out of my flinters I only shoot BP, either FFg or FFFg again whatever shoots the best with a particular bullet. But honestly I have never had a ML the hasn't shot BP well - inline or sidelock. And I don't really see any advantage with the subs over BP with the exception of possibly Blackhorn 209. And then only for inlines.

I shoot every kind of rifle there is, inlines, flintlocks, and percussion cap traditional rifles. If I had to pick one powder and stick with it and no other.. it would be Goex 2f. It works in all rifles, is dependable, has plenty of power, and while it does foul, it gets the job done.

Swiss is awfully hard to beat. Shoots pretty clean, totally reliable, easy to ignite, very accurate and repeatable results. My White is sighted in with Swiss.

I generally shoot BH209 in my other inlines for a number of reasons, laziness probably being the biggest.

If I had to choose only 1 powder to use from now on, it would be Swiss.

My 2 Powders of choice Goex 3f and Pyrodox RS. Since I have'nt had the need to use my Side Hammer any longer I have'nt used Goex in a few years now. The wife uses Pyro Pellets because the easy for her to load.
My No1 Powder would be Pyro RS, it has never let me down, and I like the smoke and to clean my MLer after using it, it gives me something to do while thinking back on the Hunt and why Im now cleaning My MLer.

Honestly, I've never even tried anything other than Pyrodex. It has worked flawlessly for me in the handful of m/l's I've had over the past 20yrs...inline, or sidelock. Never had a flinter.

I also like the smoke...to me, that is part of what makes muzzleloading what it is.
