Unhappy Mistake

When wiping down my gun after hunting i accidentally turned it upside down and one of the powder pellets came out the breach when it was removed what should a do? Fire the sabot out and start fresh or can I reload the powder pellet and be ok? Anything suggestions welcome.

Why can't you just push the entire load out with your ramrod?

I guess I could do that I just didn't want to crush the pellet or have to sabot stuck.

I ocassionally Un-Load My ACCURA for Cleaning after it has been un-fired for extended periods of time in Bad Wet Weather. I remove the Breech Plug, the Pellets Fall Out, then I Push out the Sabot into the Breech End of the Barrel, it only takes minimal force to get it to slide right out.
Just Push out the Sabot and Bullet and be done with it, swab and Re-Load.

The other Pellet is just probably stuck into the end of the Sabot, it should come right out with a Tap. Also I NEVER SAVE or Re-Use either the Bullet/Sabot Combo or the Pellets No Matter How Good they Look, I Always start with New, there Cheap Enough.
Just Soak the Pellets in Water and Throw Them Out along with the Sabot and Bullet. The Sabot usually has Rifling Groves in it any way from when you first Seated it down the Barrel from the Barrels Rifling. You want a fresh Clean Seat from the Sabot.

If you were just wiping the gun down and it hadn't been shot then you shouldn't have had to take out the breech plug.
I usually don't bring my guns inside if they have a charge in them and it is cold out because you will get condensation and your powder can get wet.
BP is right on, push everything out and start with a fresh charge so when you see that big buck you know your rifle will go bang.

Removing the breechplug on a charged weapon is sort of like taking apart a pipe bomb.

As far as I have read, there are three, maybe less, recommended unloading procedures (short of shooting):

1. Pull the ball with worm or scree (dunno if a sabot will let go of the bullet)
2. Submerge the charge (killing it with water), then disassemble
3. C02 dischargers ?? (used to be around, but I have zero experience with them)

Im not gonna say one way or the other what is Safe to do or Not because there's A-LOT of DUMP People out there and that's why they say to Remove the Load as You described.
It is Legal where I come from to have a MLer in your Vehicle Loaded as Long as the Primer, Cap, or Pan Powder is NOT in it. If there was any chance of it going off with OUT that stuff in it then I bet it would'nt be Legal. Now I quess if you got in an Accident (GOD FORBID) and you had your MLer in your Vehicle and it caught Fire, then Yea there could be a Problem.
But in Most of the Mler's I have once you unscrew the Breech Plug the Pellets just Fall Out, it's Not Like Im Pounding on them with the Ram Rod to remove them, they just Fall Out, I have No Fear in doing it this way. But to Cover tha Manufactures A$$ES they say to do it that way just because ya never know what not so Smart Person may do.
Once I remove the BP and the Pellets Fall Out I feel 100% Safe, NOW in NON REMOVEABLE Breech MLers, YES, I would never Try this unless I Soaked the Barrel In Water befor I tried to remove the Charge.

After hunting I just pull the breech plug from my Endeavor and push the bullet, sabot and powder out the breech end of the gun. Run a dry patch and then oil the barrel. I will reuse the bullet but I just throw the sabot away.

+1 but I even re-use the sabot. I haven't found any reason to throw either the bullet or the sabot away.
