Default need some information

I have been shooting muzzloaders for 20 plus years and just got around to moving up to a 209/ inline Pro hunter from a #11 cap remington .54.I am shooting trip 7 pellets and trip 7 primers.
1. When cleaning the breech plug the flash channel it Is alot smaller ... do you store this oiled or dry.
2.do you shoot a primer before you load for a hunt.Do you store the gun unprimed without cleaning bedtween hunts after shooting just a primer.
3.When storing cleaned for longer periods of time what are you preping the barrel with ... oil ,bore butter, dry ??
4. has anybody used tc foaming bore cleaner .is there a potential adverse effects from using this product.
5. How the heck are you suppose to apply lube to the breach plug threads on the gunside.
6.Should i need to replace the o - ring on the breach plug where can i get one without ordering from TC because there customer service sucks.

1) Dry, threads greased.
2)Sometimes I pop a primer. Whether or not I do, I leave the gun loaded for a couple few days.
3) I just use rem-oil. Any good gun oil will work.
4) I use foaming bore cleaner in my centerfires frequently. Just oil afterwards.
5) Put some lube on your pinky or a q-tip and rub it around. You just need a little bit as extra insurance up front.
6) Dunno that one..

1. When cleaning the breech plug the flash channel it Is alot smaller ... do you store this oiled or dry. I apply teflon tape to the clean threads of the breech plug. I then apply a very light coat of anti seize over the tape, and then screw the breech plug into the rifle. Some people leave the action and breech plug out of the rifle when they store it. The place the parts in a zip lock baggie, then tie that to the trigger so they do not loose it from the rifle.
2.do you shoot a primer before you load for a hunt. Yes, I push a dry clean patch down on top of the breech plug then pop a cap. This patch will collect any oils that might have been in the breech plug. Plus when you pull that patch it should be burned up. This indicates the fire channel is clean. Do you store the gun unprimed without cleaning bedtween hunts after shooting just a primer. If I were to store the rifle between hunting trips, I do not put a primer in the rifle. I leave it open. Now we are talking an empty rifle here.
3.When storing cleaned for longer periods of time what are you preping the barrel with ... oil ,bore butter, dry ?? For long period storage, I like Breakfree CLP or any of the better gun oils on the market to protect the bore of the rifle.
4. has anybody used tc foaming bore cleaner .is there a potential adverse effects from using this product. Never used it. Never need it.
5. How the heck are you suppose to apply lube to the breach plug threads on the gunside. Apply the anti seize to the breech plug. When you screw that into the rifle it will apply it to the rifle. I have never intentionally reached into the rifle with something to apply anti seize. I have never had a problem.
6.Should i need to replace the o - ring on the breach plug where can i get one without ordering from TC because there customer service sucks.
I never had to deal with O rings. I am not sure I would like to in the future either.

I don't shoot anything but Blackhorn 209 in my Prohunter but I never lube the breachplug, just teflon tape it and I get 0 blowback and the breachplug always comes right out. If totally clean barrel I will dry patch any oil out of the barrel. Then I pop 3 primers before a hunt and run a dry patch to distribute the fouling. From there I take it hunting. When it is in storage clean I use either Breakfree or some great stuff if you can find it called Fluid Film. I also keep a light film of Rig on the metal parts when in storage.

Breechplugs are made of Stainless Steel, so they need no lube to keep em from Rusting, store and always keep them Clean and DRY.
I have Never shot off a Primer befor I loaded My ML, there's No Oil or Moisture in it (mine anyway) so there's no need to.
Some like to shoot there ML on a Fouled Barrel, they say it's More Accurate, just think as your at the rang and shooting your ML after the first shot it always has some amount of Fouling in it even after a few swabs, so most of all of your shots through your ML will be with some kind of fouling in it so it only makes sence to have some fouling in it on your next shot at a Deer so the Firing a Primer though it befor loading it will provide enough fouling so your first shot will be where most of all your other shots at the Range were on the Target, Hope this makes sence.
I got LUCKY, with My ACCURA I can shoot it on a Clean Barrel and have the first shot go in the same place as my shots from the Barrel when it's Fouled. Now I dont mind a Fouled Barrel, if I shoot a Deer and reload I'll leave My ML the way it is, as I know it'll be Right on the Money for My next Shot. And I dont have to worry about the Fouled Dirty Barrel when I may leave it loaded for smetimes more than a week or so as It's a SS Barrel and I use Montana Extreme Bore Conditioner, and after a week or more and then shot and cleaned on the Dirty Barrel it cleans up Fast and is as Clean as New. You'll have to get to know your ML and see if the First Shot on a Clean Barrel will go in the same place as a shot on a Fouled Barrel. If your first shot is off then I'd say Shoot a Primer through your ML befor Loading for your next Hunt.
I use TC T17 Foaming Bore Cleaner, only because they had a Bunch of it left over after the Season at Wal-Mart and I bought 4 Cans of it. It works OK, No Ill effects from using it, why what have you heard????? I mostly just use Dish Soap and Water to Clean My ML Barrels, followed By a Few Patches of TC No 13 Bore Cleaner followed by a patch or two of Montana Etreme Bore Conditioner, qait a while, a couple of Dry Patches then Load.
I use TC BP Grease, or Bore Butter on the Threads and I have even used Teflon Tape. Depending on how much (Blow Back) you have the Teflon Tape does the Best Job to Prevent this, is Blow By is Minimal the Grease will do the Job.
To grease the Threads on the inside of the ML Barrel, I first make sure there Clean and use a Bore Brush to Clean them Good, then make sure as your Barrel is already Dry and Oiled, then I apply the BP Grease to the Threads of the BP, I serew in the BP, then Un Screw it, then back in again and out a few times to make sure the inside barrel threads are well lubed, then I just (Hand) snug the BP and Im good.
I dont have a TC Breech Plug with the O-Ring, I would'nt worry about your's wearing out right away but getting a spare would'nt hurt. My Buddy has a TC Triumph and His O-Ring has lasted so far after a couple of Seasons. But If it was Me I'd get one, I always have a Spare Brand New BP, I've never needed it but it's good to have when Murphy Shows Up.
Best of Luck to You!

I agree with most of the above comments.
i have been shooting a Triumph for since that came out and an Endeavor For a few years I have yet to replace an "o" ring: I do keep some spares. I bought an O ring box that has many sizes because I use them on many things tractor, lawn more, chainsaws, backhoe, and etc. one of the o rings in the of graduated sizes is the right size and there was about a dozen in the box so that's where I got mine. It must be a standard size to be in the box. I took the original off and tried one to be sure they fit and would work . You should be able to get at any good hardware store or farm store. I strongly agree with having a back up, I use my Triumph to back up my endeavor and if needed I could dig the Omega out of storage.
I do have to disagree with one thing the rem oil has Teflon in it and so I do not use it in the bore as Sabot loader taught us about the problems that can cause.
I use Montana X bore protector and am quite happy with it.
