REPLY-I don't think it has to do with the number of does as much as the overall number of deer in a highly populated area such as the county I live in. I believe a doe can have anywhere from 1 to 3 fawns a year. If everyone were to only trophy hunt for big racks, could you imagine how the deer population would explode in just a few years? I can tell you that the person that farms the land I hunt on says that the deer cost him a whole lot of money from crop damage every year.
