Ive shot powerbelts ahead of 3 pyrodex pellets for a few years now with great results.
This year I plan to use the new triple7 pellet. In the pamphlet that came with the pellets it specifically states that (2) pellets are the max even in rifles that may be able to handle 150gr as per their manufacturer. Has anyone investigated this with TC yet
or have field experience?
thanks

the hodgdon site says that T7 is about 15% more potent than pyrodex for the same volume, and, the T7 pellets are noticeably smaller than pyrodex pellets, so it reasons that they may have compensated the T7 to make it comparable to that of a pyrodex pellet. i dunno

777 pellets in 50s are roughly 5% weaker than Pyrodex pellets in 50s in chrono tests conducted.
In volume, 100 grains of 777 loose FF is roughly 15% more potent than 100 grains of Pyrodex FF loose.
777 pellets in 50s are designed to fall in line with Pyrodex pellets for safety reasons & to prevent confusing the rifle owner.
Always read the rifle owners manuals for loading instructions BEFORE you load the weapon. If a manual is MIA, contact the manufacturer... downloads are available online.... usually free!

Tried (3) T7s in my SS encore this weekend.... about 10 shots, 1 swabbing, all delivered to target just fine. Clean up was odorless but seemed like more residue than with pyrdex pellets. All in all - T7 is a winner, but i suggest you decide for yourself if youll use (3) pellets or not
