Default That rung my bell

Got my range box ready last night and stupidly forgot that the cabelas hawken flash channel is to tiny to allow 2F American Pioneer to flow under the nipple. Added 3 grains of 4f goex under there and took it out today.

80gr American Pioneer 2f after the first shot left my head numb! Man you talk about recoil. I was shooting off my bag rest this time around.

Switched back to 70gr Pyrodex RS with the 454gr Lee conicals and perfect recoil and great accuracy!

For some reason though, i keep pulling shots #2. The other 2 shots are perfect though.

Just one of those deals i'll have to practice with.

The 320 REAL did perfect at 100 yards with 70gr Pyrodex RS and a lubed wad. A great elk load that is comfortable to shoot and accurate up to 90gr RS. Or at least it was at 50 yards.

Going back out with 80gr 3f American Pioneer and take some more shots and pictures.

Lots of fun with that rifle today!

Perfect recoil would be a .22.

The 70gr Pyrodex charge isn't to bad, its actually a comfortable load you can shoot all day. That 80gr APP 2F charge however... man i will never shoot that one again! LOL

Yes, 70 gr of Pyro is very pleasant with a PRB in a 10lb gun.

Not with a 454gr hunk of lead.

I actually thought of ordering some 460 gr No Excuse bullets. Then I came to my senses. The 338gr PB is more than I want.

MD if your shooting for accuracy (groups), that position is not indicitive of consistancy. Now if you're just practicing that is fine.
