I cant believe this price.

http://www.knightrifles.com/ultimate-range-rod-M900081/

I already ordered three of them. WOW

cayugad 11-07-2011 12:11 PM

they are a great range rod, and at that price, even though I don't need another range rod I am tempted to get one and then designate it strictly to a certain caliber. I have a .45 caliber range rod (that model) and a .50 caliber, but nothing for big bore. Then I would not have to change jag, just pick up the correct range rod. Thanks for posting that.

They took my credit card on my order. Maybe you could help me get some for free?

How come when you talk about Knight you say we? Like you're part of something.

How did you take care of the problem Josh is having?

Why do you push Knight so hard if you're not getting something?

At least Jon gets free stuff. Is he smarter than you are?

Poor speech on my part i guess.

How did you take care of the problem Josh is having?

I didn't take care of it, Knight rifles took care of it. They saw the thread and asked me to contact him.

I Love Knight rifles and always have. That's why we designed a better breech plug for all there guns.

All heck, Ive gotten a lot of things from Knight. Test guns mainly and a jacket and some shirts and so on. I also ordered $200.00 bucks worth of clothes a couple weeks ago. I wont call them up and say send me some free Rods. I think i have atleast 5 of them now. They just aren't painted pretty.

At least Jon gets free stuff. Is he smarter than you are?

It's not to hard to be smarter then me.

Muley Hunter 11-07-2011 04:00 PM

You said we again.

Muley Hunter 11-07-2011 04:02 PM

I guess i'm no better. I push Thor bullets, because I believe in them. I don't get anything out of it.

Lehigh, and several members on here helped designing some of the new products. That is the we thing.

Muley Hunter 11-07-2011 04:18 PM

This was about the Lehigh? :confused0024:

The Range Rod is a Lehigh Product... and to be honest with you a lot of the concept came from Grouse, He emailed and discussed the project with Lehigh. Then Lehigh built it, offered it out to a couple of companies but Knight said yea! first.

That is the story of the birth of the rod.

I ordered three today and the shipping was $16.53 exactly. I just checked my order.

Ron I ordered two and the shipping came to near $17 because of the length of the package Fed Ex adds a additional charge - i call it a penalty charge - kinda like Haz-Mat + the fact they have to send it to Idaho, so many zones west of Tennessee

zakjak711 11-07-2011 04:36 PM

Good find Grouse, Thanks!
I ordered a 45 & a 50!

I understand, but does that include designing a BP for the gun?

I'm just trying to make the point that he gives the impression he's more involved with Knight. More power to him if he is. I've been sponsored in my life on different things, and I love free stuff.

The BP is a Lehigh project also - built for Knight

HEAD0001 11-07-2011 04:45 PM

I use a drill stop on my rod as an indicator for the proper seating depth. That rod says a charge height indicator. Is it measuring the powder charge?? Or the bullet??

The indicator also looks like it is a 2-piece indicator. Is it 2-piece?? Is it kind of like the depth adjustment you use on your case trimmer?? Where you lock down then adjust slightly with the second wheel??

What type of metal is the rod made from?? I might try one. Thanks, Tom.

donjose 11-07-2011 04:51 PM

I wish knight would contact me about that breech plug they sent me that was thrashed
That destroyed several threads in my gun

You have to contact them... through the phone number they provide on their web site...

Then you need to make up your mind because the last time we talked about it i thought you told me the FPJ that I sent you screwed in just fine and it was my understanding the last time we talked the gun threads were ok but the plug threads were dinged.

Tom here is a write up i did on the project... i am not a writer so please remember that as you are reading...

The first threads going into the rifle are damaged I used the powerstem plug to chase the threads. And installed your plug which was tight as well
Then I cleaned the conversion plug with a file and steel wool . The box I ordered all my stuff from them looked like a two year old packed
It several packages were torn open. My point is I posted my problem with the plug after I had seen others were having problems and no one contacted anyone to contact me.Plus I don't need to talk to a gunsmith again who has no clue.

donjose 11-07-2011 05:23 PM

And I remember the old company service this wouldn't have gone this far.

And if Knight is really reading this forum my first thread about the rat race I went on, I am sure they would have had someone on this forum contact me as well

As did i. Seems to me, this is the first time i ever purchased something that is 'ultimate'.

MountainDevil54 11-07-2011 05:29 PM

hey if Knight is reading the forum,

I'd like to see a carrying case for the range rod. That'd free up one hand.

I questioned why you put the plug in the gun. You told me you fixed the plug. If you fixed the plug why do you keep complaining? You really have not stopped complaining even before you got the plug and the stuff you ordered from Knight.

donjose 11-07-2011 05:33 PM

Yea I paid double that for my rod and now two weeks later they are half price I am calling tomorrow and see if they will refund the difference or send me one to match the price

donjose 11-07-2011 05:41 PM

Again so you understand the plug was installed and it stopped and would not move I had to put the gun in a vise and put a breaker bar on it to get the plug out.
The difference between josh gun and mine is I am the only owner never fired new in the box.

I used two other plugs to chase the threads
Then cleaned the threads on the piece of thrash they sent me which is still tight in spots

. Now your talking about a Rod, instead of a breech plug???? I also remember you complaining about the 20% discount you got as well.

donjose 11-07-2011 05:46 PM

I am complaining because I paid good money and got sorry service.
I work hard and I expect good service and parts that are not damaged for what knight charges.
If I wanted junk I would have bought a junky gun

Face it Grouse. This guy doesn't do anything but b***h about stuff. I bet Knight is reading these posts in hopes that this fellow buys someone elses rifle.

It doesn't matter what you do for some people you will never satisfy them. And this is one of those guys.

He acts like an expert, but no expert would ever ever ever force a breech plug into a rifle. It is just simply something an experienced person does not do.

Knight will be glad to get rid of him. If they had any sense they would just give a full refund. But he would find a way to complain about that.

I have been dealing with Knight for over 25 years and never had a single problem. I have also had a few dealings with the new Knight Company as well. Everything went off without a hitch. Maybe Knight just has it out for him?? Tom.

First I didn't force anything
Second you don't have a dog in this fight
Third the old company would have never gave me the run around
