I'm actually glad to hear that. Good luck hunting and shooting.

And if this company has problems you will be the first to hear about it.

Thank for the email to Knight I will wait and see what happens

And that is your problem. This forum is not a ring for fighting. It is suppose to be a friendly place where guys can talk about things. And try to work things out. Not constantly b***h about everythnig.

Stop looking at it like a fight and start looking at it with a bit of respect, and you will go a lot farther in life.

It is also especially funny that you also fully avoided my comment about you forcing the breech plug-when as I stated an experienced person would never force a breech plug into their barrel. Never!!

Address the issue. Oh that's right, you have no issue. Just complaints. Tom.

Did you miss the one were I said nothing was forced?
Maybe you should get hooked on phonics so you can address the part of not being able to read

Don Jose:

First you used Gojo hand cleaner to clean up your gun. Then you tried that awful Pinnacle powder: You even had the audacity to say good things about it. Sounds like non-conforming stuff to me.

You know, donjose, I bet they waited until after you ordered one to have their sale on them just to pi$$ you off. You need to cheer up and things will go better for you.

EndeavorShooter 11-08-2011 04:51 AM

Don't worry about it donjose, these are all the same guys, that knight does no wrong and as soon as some one has a bad experience they all chime in with how it must be you, and you are the ass for not being satisfied with the ****ty service, you are getting.

If knight is better off, you not ordering from them. Maybe they will be better off, if no one does. It doesn't matter the customer, from what I have read with your and MD's experience, they are definatly not the old knight but a plastics company trying to play a gun mfg. It is very sad that they can not do a better job of getting people trained and up to par, knowledge wise, to deal with customers. You would think they would want to do a better job so, they can keep their employees working and out of the unemployment line.

falcon 11-08-2011 04:57 AM

i know how Jason feels. Went through the wringer when i bought that Encore. It was like TC tried to rape me. After getting nowhere with TC, i finally sold several ill-chambered Encore center fire rifle barrels at a loss.

Left the ramrod thimbles loose so i'll be reminded of my purchasing decision every time i load that gun.

EndeavorShooter 11-08-2011 05:03 AM

Should have bought bergara rifle barrels for it. They are far better than tc's.

But it only makes sense you sold them at a lose. Nowadays guns go down in value. Hell I see 250-400 dollar barrels sell for 150-225, all the time.

7.62NATO 11-08-2011 05:24 AM

For me, I just can’t see a “range rod” being that beneficial. My gun’s ramrod is cut down so that it can accept the SpinJag loader. So, it’s so short that I would definitely notice if I double charged, etc. I use BH209, so I really don’t need to swab or clean the barrel at the range (i.e. there is not a lot of jag changing going on). And during a range session, I just slip a muzzle/crown guide on my ramrod and leave it on the whole session.

So…what am I missing here?

ronlaughlin 11-08-2011 05:33 AM

7.62NATO

What do you use to clean your rifle? Myself, i use a range rod. Now, i wish to know what i am missing.

Gm54-120 11-08-2011 05:33 AM

Thanks, im ordering another one.

I think many of us suggested having them on sale shortly after they were offered. Its a great range rod but the original price was hard for many people to consider.

The current price will average out the original price i paid to a more acceptable level and hopefully others will buy one now. The price is great and hopefully after the "sale", the "normal" price will be adjusted to a more attractive price point.

donjose 11-08-2011 05:44 AM

Well I called and sent an email to the Gordy Edwards this morning we shall see what takes place now

If they fix the problems I will be the first to give them a good word....

Thanks Brother,
So far I have only posted on this forum but soon I will travel to other forums and let them know as well....:violin:

7.62NATO 11-08-2011 05:54 AM

Ron - I just use my gun's ramrod. After I am done shooting at the range, I change to a cleaning jag and run a few patches of Hoppe's down the barrel so that it has time to work during the trip home. Then I clean later that day.

EndeavorShooter 11-08-2011 06:08 AM

7.62 I used to think and do the same. But, if you had a range rod, you would never use the one that came with it. Except to reload in the field. They are so much easier and have, something to push down on, when you have a tight loading bullet. Instead of the rod killing your hand.

Thats just what I did for many years, I received one of the new rods we are talking about as a gift now if I got to the range with out it I would go back and get it. It made a difference in my groups I am not real sure why just that it did improve them.

Scott, i forgot all about those conversations we had amoung the group of testers hoping that Knight would do exactly as you say. I am sure that this might just be a short sale and I would hope that those that want a range rod would take full advantage of it.

EndeavorShooter 11-08-2011 06:33 AM

Just shows us the mark up on them. 75 normal and 32 on sale a lot of mark up in them things.

Muley Hunter 11-08-2011 06:38 AM

If the gun ramrod will work in the field to load the gun. It will work on the range too. I just screw on a T-handle at the range, and when I clean.
No range rod needed.

EndeavorShooter 11-08-2011 06:51 AM

No body said it wouldn't work (tight ass) :) but it is easier with a range rod, when you are running up and down the barrel as much as I do at the range and when cleaning.

Muley Hunter 11-08-2011 06:53 AM

Why is it easier moneybags?

EndeavorShooter 11-08-2011 07:04 AM

Well for one, my factory rod has a lot of flex that I don't like. But don't ssk me, ask the guys that think they are so much better, they pay as much as 85.00 bucks shipped for one.

Hmmm...well I use -- and would still use -- a short starter with a palm saver on the end of it. The palm saver is generally used to send the bullet home and always to seat it (I put close to my full body weight when seating). So, I still am not seeing the advantage. Perhaps one of you should send me one so I can see the light. :D

My factory rod isn't flexible, and with a t-handle screwed on it easily reaches the BP with no load. So, it's plenty long enough. Also, Thors load easily. No short starter needed.

Why do I need a range rod again?

btw..I don't load those funny, hard loading, plastic wrapped bullets. You'd probably need a range rod for those. :p

Semisane 11-08-2011 07:16 AM

7.62NATO, I've had one of those Lehigh/Knight range rods for the last couple of years and ordered a second one yesterday so as to have one for swabbing and one with the load indicator set for the load I'm shooting. Over the years I've used a bunch of different rods. Believe me, there are none better.

I know it's difficult to imagine the difference between using a good range rod and the gun's rod. But if you could borrow one of those range rods to load and clean for a shooting session you would be ordering one as soon as you returned home.

Muley Hunter 11-08-2011 07:28 AM

It's just more crap to drag to the range. My way works fine.

sabotloader 11-08-2011 07:28 AM

One of the things that was asked of the original testers of the rod by Lehigh was to complete an evaluation of the product. From these evaluations Lehigh Dave did make some minor changes to improve the offering.

This is a write I did about them... but remember I am not a writer I stuggled in English classes... I was a product tester and they asked for a write up, so these were my thoughts.

Got my range rods today, and I seriously doubt if you could wear one out.
They are nice!
