I've read a lot of positives on this powder, and I was thinking of giving it a try, but I read some pretty negative reviews on Cabelas website, mostly guys having trouble getting the stuff to light up. Anyone else have that type of experience, and if so what was the fix?

I believe the Apex is essentially a re-branded CVA Kodiak. I don't think the breech plug, without any modification, is BH209 friendly but I'm sure others here know better.

PM Ron Laughlin, he makes a BP that will screw right into place and be BH209 friendly.
If you were able to adjust the head space you'd be fine with the factory plug but its a bit hard to do with that drop action style. The Winchester Apex is a fine muzzleloader, i owned one in .45cal. Great little shooters.
