Need some info from Knight owners
I finally found a Super Disc .45 cal. The tag on the gun said 1:20. The serial number was 005057 . I was under the impression that they switched the twist rate to 1:30 after serial number 005043. That would make this gun a 1:30 not a 1:20. When I check it with a patch and jag it does appear to be a 1:30 but I am hoping that I am not doing it right in checking the rifling. Does anyone know if the serial number change is correct? Would this gun be a 1:30?

Tom, Serial number change for the .45 twist rate was anything prior to #2291 on mild steel and #5043 on stainless were 1:20 twist. Hope this helps. Gordy Edwards It really could be either, but by serial number it should be 1-30 |
Chet, If you are getting 1 in 30 when you check it, that must be what it is. There is no way you could be off 10 inches. I hope I am not right.

Thats what I thought . It's a 1:30 even though the attached tag says 1:20. They probably used the preprinted cards even though they changed twist rates. That's a bummer. Hmmm.

The seller didn't verify it was a 1-20? Considering they are slightly collectible by a few of us, i would have thought he would have made sure he actually had a 1-20. I am only assuming the seller had these very basic skills to make sure or at least get a confirmation by email.

im the seller. I figured Knight had marked their guns properly. This gun was in the shop for years before i picked it up. Knight tagged the gun as 1:20.

Was it a tag from the Knight factory or something the gunshop or someone else put on it? I have bought a few new Knight rifles and don't remember any of them having a factory tag stating twist rate. I think I better stay out of this one. :s4:

factory tag. Shown here,
![]() They listed the calibers, twist of rates for each gun. |
Thats odd because not a single older NIB Knight ive bought had a twist rate on a tag attached anywhere. Including my Original 45cal.
Hopefully the seller will handle the issue to YOUR satisfaction. |
