Too bad. The group would have looked better.

65grns of N120 and a 250grn bullet is scary accurate in the Savage. That was one of RB'S favorite loads.

Nice group GMB!
So your load was 60 gr RL-7 w/250 gr sst?
Have you taken any deer with the SST? Performance? Fragmentation?

Thanks--Mark

??????

I didn't post a 45cal target but i do use 60gr of Re7 for both the Pacnor 45 and in the Savage with the 325gr FTX. I use N110 and 4759 in my NULA but will be trying it in the Pacnor 45 with some milder loads. The previous owner got some really nice groups with 63gr of Re7 in the Pacnor 45. Mines got a longer barrel than Omegas though so i don't get a bad muzzle blast.

I typically avoid as many IMR products as possible but 4759 in the new jug is a nice mild single and very bulky so its hard to double charge a tube. It makes a great booster for duplexing too but thats another story.

Ive got plenty of N120 but im lucky and have a supplier locally. Its like the BH209 of SML powders. It makes some awesome fps with a 300gr in a 50cal and holds its own really well in the 45cal too. If you are looking for some really high fps 250gr loads, N120 is really hard to beat too. 2500fps and beyond is fairly easy if you can handle the recoil.

Sofar im VERY happy with Re7 because the pressures are very mild and fps is good. Secondary pressure spikes are very low too and temp sensitivity is better than 4198. 63gr of Re7 is a tad slower than 60gr of N120 with a 325gr FTX in the Savage 50cal.

My NULA though loves the N110 and man is it clean compared to any powder ive tried. FPS is excellent too even with 300gr bullets but pressures are starting to get a bit high. The new 4759 takes nearly 5grs more to get close to the same fps in my NULA with any bullet weight ive tried across the chrono. Either can be used for mild 45cal loads but 4759 in the new jug IMO has a easier spike in the curve.
