On every muzzle loader forum its pretty much Whites are the top of the line performers(and hard to get). My question is how can Doc White's shop and or knowledge out perform modern technology and big money company's? Also whatever little tricks he had up his sleeve have others followed suit.

Doc built his reputation on his rifles. All I know is the ones I have are shooters. They always go off. And they can throw old fashion big lead bullets down range with a lot of authority.

"Passion" for the sport and quality rifles and the knowledge needed to make them perform the way he wanted them to.

I have one. It's just the basic model ( Bison ) and I love it.

I like the simplicity and pure function but I doubt they would sell if lined up againts the " flash " of what the big guys produce.

It's more of an aquired tast and the " sight them in and hunt " crowd would not appreciate the beauty.

To me modern technology does not insure quality products. We see that in a lot of things on the shelves today.
My opinion is that doc didn't listen to market analysts and pencil pushers. His passion for the sport pushed him to develop a great quality muzzleloader. There is a lot of information that can be gleaned by going to his web site for those who are interested.

I only have one white rifle, wished I had a couple of more. It would be the last ML that I would part with. It is a superb rifle for shooting big concials bullets. Mine has a 1:24 twist, makes me wonder if that doesnt play a big part in its accuracy.

Whites were made using quality barrels, at least some were Wilson.

Not just barrels... hold a White and its like you have a battle tank. Balanced, heavy duty, all parts work in unison with the others, they really are a fine built rifle. Before I got in to the White craze, people such as Batchief Nimmrodder, Underclocked, and other used to show off their rifles. Then they would show the bullets, and the targets they would shoot. When they started saying how they could load shot after shot without swabbing, while I sat out there on my range, sweating my self to death, swabbing a rifle, I honestly doubted them. I really thought they were selling a dead horse.

Then I got my first White.. the Ultra Mag Model 97 .504. Sportsmans Warehouse had them on sale and everyone was getting one. I figured I was due to be burned. So I took the leap. I purchased one and some No Excuse Conicals. The day it came, I sat on my bench and put 3/4 of that box down range, with amazing accuracy, and never swabbed the barrel. It was then I fell in love with the White Rifle system.

Since then I purchased a Model 97 .451 "squirrel rifle" with the 22 inch barrel. Again, it shot like a dream. So when the Bison came along, I could not control myself and purchased that as well.

You have to shoot a White to appreciate them. If they had a way for the buying public to simple shoot some of the rifles they consider.. White would be big time sellers.
