I just weighed ten bullets from a fresh box of .452/250 grain Deep Curls on my cheap AWS digital scale. I weighed each one at least twice. If the first two readings were the same I accepted the weight. If the first two were different I weighed it several times until I got three of the same readings.

Here what I got, from lightest to heaviest.

248.0
248.3
248.8
249.2
249.4
250.5
250.8
251.4
251.4
252.2

Semi 4.2 with the majority 3 gr or less ,that's not to bad . That would put them in the top 5 of the ones I weighed.

Well, as long as I had the scale out I grabbed a fresh box of .452/300 grain Deep Curls and weighed ten using the same procedure.

298.6
299.1
299.2

"But one of the bullets that I don't much like varied as much as 10 grains Since I don't much like that brand I won't mention the name lest you think I am picking on them."

Does it rhyme with flower smelt?

I better not answer that but it must be a feminine bullet because it wears a skirt and I weighed them both with and without their skirts on

I for one have done this same thing and I have found that the Lehighs were spot on as well. I reload for my CF's and never buy factory ammo, quite a few years back I checked several factory loads that were very inconsistent in the powder charge as well as the bullet weight. I do feel that a grain or two makes a difference with any loads, may it be smokeless or not. Bullet weight difference by a grain or two will not effect the shot no where as much as the powder charge will.

I have played with the accuracy problem for year I used to do bench compitition both with muzzle loaders and with cartridge guns. I tend to check both the weight and diameter before I go out to group shoot I also check the bullets for dings, the least bit off center will cause fliers. For group shooting I sort them to .5 of a grain. I do that for my hunting bullets if I am going where I might have a long shot.
