I'm a new member looking for info. Hopefully this year I will be able to get started in BP hunting, as it should be easier to find time for this portion of deer season. A couple of years ago I recieved a Traditions Pursuit II Guide Gun, topped with a Nikon Prostaff 3x9, as gift. It seems like a nice rifle but hopefully I will be able to upgrade to a nice Lyman Great Planes or a Hawkens. I just can't seem to connect with a BP rifle that looks and feels like a single shot centerfire.

Welcome to the Forum, good bunch of guys here except for a few troublemakers....

Don't apoligize for what you are using, we all started somewhere and it's all good...
You might even consider using that gun as a starter rifle because that's what it's
going to be if you enjoy yourself...

Welcome to the forum freebirdfb. That gun and scope will certainly get you in the game. I lean towards the sidehammer guns also, but do presently have two in-lines that I wouldn't part with. Both have their uses and are enjoyable.
Have you shot that Traditions yet, or is it still a virgin?
