Not sure what your point is? They weren't as accurate in the gun that I tried. That's why I sold them to Omega45.

All bullets aren't accurate in all guns. Especially in muzzleloaders.

I will try them in the Wolf if I decide to shoot the rifle season next year. I know they won't shoot better than the Thors, but being a smaller bullet, they may shoot flatter. Which is what i'm after.

Re read what i said earlier in the post. and of course that's not true for every rifle.but again the PT has a much better BC than the Thor, which IMHO is why it will be more accurate in most rifles. Ray

Barnes still has better terminal performance. I'll give up a 1/2" in accuracy for TP.

Ray,
The 260's in Harvester smooths are accurate in my Encore Bergara barrel. I believe this 3 shot group was with 105gr BH209, distance was 100yds.

Thanks for the MMP sabots Ray! They did great in the Optima with only 100gr BH209. Next time out i will try 110gr. May set my brother in laws Wolf up with them this year as well for testing on deer.

Guess the MMP-24 is the correct fitting sabot. darn nice group there. was that 100 yds? Ray

yes that was 100 yards. Not sure of the actual group but its WELL under the size of the 1.5inch bulls eye in the picture.

MD,
Try 105gr first. I bet that will pull the group even tighter.

I would try both the MMP HPH24 and the Harvester Smooth short. Ive had good luck with both sabots and loaded OD with PT Golds is really close. Last time i shot them was with smokeless in the Harvester Smooth so i know they will handle hot loads just fine.

I dont know how TB ever got the groups he claims using the Crushrib/Pt Gold considering he says its bore is a tad large in the protoype he usually uses. I could push the the same combo down the bore of my Extreme 50 with 2 fingers and it hated them with any amount of powder. Its bore was a tad large too but the HPH-24 shot pretty good with the 260gr version and a bit better with the 300gr. The GoldDots did even better but they are a little larger OD.
