I don't think they are paying a hazmat fee. They are doing something to get around it. I pay $27 a can straight from them in Miles City MT. No shipping no hazmat. If this person is truly making a profit off of $27 then Western Poweder is truly ripping us off. That means they can make if for 5 dollars a can and rasing the price by 4x and then the company that sells it marking it up. Equaling roughly $32 a can. Something isn't right.
Think about it. When you're a dealer, you get big time breaks in price, especially when order large amounts. |

most likely has more in the store sales than online sales so it all works out.

I get it for that price locally from Grafs (actually $27.99 IIRC) and 4759 for only 22.99 for a full pound. Its pretty obvious to me the markup is HUGE on powders!!! Even Cabelas has sales for $24.99 a bottle once or twice a year.
I got some APP Pooper Powder online cheap too and it appeared to ship from the website/retailer. It worked great on the 4th of July. ;) Maybe it drop ships with the retailers address label from the supply house? Maybe there is a difference in what WE pay for hazmat vs what a business with a shipping account pays. ;) |
50Calty:
I have been buying my BH209 for $29.00 shipped for over a year. Quantity dealers get deep discounts and can afford to sell it very cheap with shipping built into their price. |
I'm going to Bass Pro Shop Monday after work. I'll be getting a bottle of Blackhorn for $30.00 and a pack of Pyrodex Pellets for $28.00. Plus tax that's $61.48 and I don't have to wait for it to be shipped. I might even pick up some bullets if they have something I want. Its nice to have a big sporting goods store like that within a reasonable drive. Of coarse I'll be doing a lot of browsing while I'm there too.

I personally, dont care how he does it...as long as it comes to my door for 27 bucks..... Only place I can find within a reasonable driving distance is 39.95 a jug......and for a guy that doesn't shoot alot and only goes thru a couple of jugs a year......i just cant buy a case at a time to save on the hazmat fee.
So, Carlos will be getting an order from me..... |

I do the same thing with a Bass Pro in my area (once they lowered the price from $45!). However, you do pay sales tax, and at least in Texas, when I order from another state there is no sales tax. So I can order BH 209 for $27 to my door and if I bought it at Bass Pro at $30 + tax I would pay a total of $32.50. That is $5.50 per bottle I could spend elsewhere. Think I will order some!
Hell, plus the gas and time you save....not leaving home to go get it |
