I found this site while searching for gunsmiths in my area. I never knew it existed and its only about 20-25 minutes away from me. For those who like flintlocks it looks like this guy makes some really nice guns.

Wow! I thought I looked at every page, and didn't see that.
I might have to rethink the Hawken thing. I plan on joining the AMM (American Mountain Man). I've been looking at all the pictures of their treks, and all I see are flint long rifles.
They are super serious about living the life, and using all period gear and guns.
I might just have to go with a long rifle. Not too hard to take. They're a lot lighter than a Hawken. I'll need to make all my clothing and gear. I guess I need to find a LH gun kit.
