This is meant for the less experienced muzzleloaders.
Always remember that when you open the flash hole you not only take away some of the amount of life of a breach plug or vent liner but that over doing the hole size could cause blowback that could be dangerous. It is my personal experience that an over sized flash hole will cause inaccuracy at a point before it causes bad blowback. That's what has happened when a gun looses accuracy and a new breach plug or putting in a vent liner fixes the problem. Sometimes a used gun that is being sold cheap because of inaccuracy can be an easy fix if you know what to look for.

Not to be shot long term... what I am suggesting there is that BH does cause a 'crud ring' type of fouling but it is in the breech plug instead of the bore. At the time of BH's release I do not think this was known for sure. Current breech plugs do not have the ability to shoot long term (many shots) without doing some maintenance to the BP. Gun companies certainly did not know it for sure or they could done more preparation for a BP that would offer more long term shooting capabilities.

Maybe help me understand what you are asking?
Your first para answered my question. Poor English. My appologies.

Thanks

Thanks for coming back to me on this... I just was sure what the answer might be to the question.

In my world there are zero issues using Black Horn powder. I use it hunting. I use it to punch paper, and water jugs. I shoot year round. I sometimes don't keep my rifle as clean as i should, and my rifle still works with this powder. It isn't finicky, and doesn't require special care. My equipment isn't all OEM, but a lot of it is. I would ask, 'Is that Western Powder that good?', cuz it is for me.

When i leave town to go hunting, i go with extra bullets, powder, primers, food, fuel, etc. My tires have plenty of tread, and i have fire starter, and rope, and a game cart, and gloves, and a cap, etc.

When i go fishing, i have enough fuel, jigs, bait, and ice. The bearings on my boat trailer are greased, the spare tire has air in it, and the boat batteries are charged.

These days my only issues using Black Horn Powder, is i use too much of it.

The three P's Proper Planning and Preparation go a long ways's for any outing.

I live in the middle of Whoville, Canada and powders of different varieties are out of the norm. It is hard to get Goex here let alone a fancy can of BH209. It's a 2 hr drive each way for the Goex.

I haven't used it yet and was currious as to what the issues were with it. As always, mileage will vary.
