If it's a rifle I've used through the years and I know what powder and what bullet/sabot combo it liked then, yes...
If I didn't know how well it grouped that particular bullet/sabot combo then, no, I would confirm with a couple (or in my case 4-5) more shots... |
Well scopes have never been perfected and not verifying that it is locked in the POI and not still moving is going to get you in trouble with the POI sooner or later. My opinion after using scopes for 80 years.

NC is right... thats the only fly in the ointment, the gun is new. However, It's a Knight Disc Elite that I have looked over with an extreme case of OCD and it's perfect. The shot was also squeezed off perfectly as stated above and the scope adjustment was spot on... that in it's self tells you that your gun is shooting pretty darn close to MOA. You all bring up good points and this was, as I said, a little tongue-in-cheek to begin with,,, but I will get back to the range soon to prove or disprove my theroy that an eperienced muzzleloadist with good equipment and components can do just what i did today and be just fine on, as Tom said, 150 yards and in hunting shots. I say yes!

That was 100 grains of BH, 300 grain Barnes Expander MZ in a HPH 24, and a CCI 209m primer. Also the load for the Elite today was 100 grains of BH, 300 grain .451 Nosler Partition PP in a Harvester Short Black, and a CCI 209m. |
What breech plug did you use? Was it the flat faced one?

Yep... model # 900046 on Knight's web site. If you keep it relatively carbon free it works great with BH.

I have no doubt your confidence in the gun & load is well founded Flint Head.
But I couldn't do that. Not that I doubt the gun at all. It's just that shots are like potato chips. I can't take just one. |
