At least it is not made in some 3rd world country where the worker makes 5 dollars a day [or equivalent there off] and does it by rote cause he can not read and has problems getting things right because he is faint from hungry.

Do you still put some protective oil in that barrel when you are done cleaning like you would otherwise?

Is that the only point of it, to keep you from having to use other protectants?
Is oil somehow harmful to this coating that you say it would ruin it?

The point of it is, Reduced fouling " lead -copper ect & powder form" Easy clean up as the following has a much harder time sticking to it. Water - mud- snow - what ever will not get through the ceramic coating.

When you use oil, you remove it prior to loading, right? You just removed the oil thats there to help protect against rust and corrosion so what happens when you are in the field and stuck in wet weather? You worry about the moisture in the bore that will cause rust.

With the bore coat and gun shield, throw it into a tub of water, let it soak and then put it out on a table and let it sit there and see if it rusts.

Its that good of a product.

Oil wont ruin the bore coat or gun shield, it just ruins the point of using those 2 items. Their slogan is " Stop oiling, and start protecting"

I would be too skeered to do that. I would try it with your gun though.
