Are you sure that's not the crud ring you never cleaned out?

Last 1 1/2 inches would imply it is from whatever powder was used in it and not cleaned properly.as suggested before, i would JB and oil the barrel and follow the swabbing between shots and cleaning regiment that SABOTLOADER suggested.if you end up using BH209, throw the swabbing out the window and buy a good center fire barrel cleaner.Hoppes.birchwood Casey bore scrubber ETC.That darn Jon sold me on the bore scrubber, works excellent and even smells good to boot  Ray

boggered bore

yep thanks fer the replys guys , but i really think it is machining marks it looks like a lathe cut that resembles a screw affect ,but its jagged ,at least a in or more , i took a look at my old knight that dose have damage down there , and it is not powder crude , my ? is should i just jb that area , or the hole barrel ? its still a good shooter ,and if i dont have to mess with the muzzle end i would rather knot , opinion please :fighting0007:

I'd be afraid to do anything if it's a good shooter.
