bore butter sucks, a ton of better rust protection lubes out there.

This is what you're trying to push through after shooting ONE shot with T7.

The correct application of BB has gotten a bad rap since Randy Wakeman, decided it was non-sense.
Sorry fellas, but with all the products out there i see no reason to use BB on any rifle.exception maybe conical lube and there are a lot better lubes for that purpose also.windex and alcohol for swabbing and cleaning 777 and a quality oil after cleaning is done.also montana bore conditioner i would like to try since they claim it is "not" a synthetic oil.i do not care for any synthetic oil in my rifle barrels..Ray

Use BH 209 and kick the crud ring to the curb. Along with the bore butter.

This 3 shot 100yd group was shot with my Pro Hunter w/ Encore Bergara barrel using a 300gr Harvester PT in a smooth sabot and 100gr of Triple 7 3F a few weeks back. Chrony results were very consistant. I swabbed with a CVA Barrel Blaster patch that was squeezed of all its juices and followed up by a dry patch. I see no problem in you using T7, just take your time between shots and keep everything consistant. I did foul the bore with a primer for the first shot. Try Sabotloaders Windex patch's, I have about 30 patches made up and ready to try.

Ditch the bore butter, ditch the Triple Seven and forget about a quick second shot...Many rifles shoot better with a damp patch or two between shots...

Muzzleloading requires a change of attitude about second shots on game, make the first count, forget the second unless you are squirrel hunting...

Ditch to Triple 7 to what? BH 209 requires no swabbing between shots so please list the powder you suggest him to switch to.

Well Omega, I use Goex FFF...I need it for my flinters and it still works just fine in inlines...

I'm not paying for expensive powders just to make cleaning a little easier...

Well, I agree to real BP for sidelocks. It's all I use for those too.

However, it not the hot tip for inlines. I see no reason to stick to tradition if you're going to shoot a modern ML. It's too big of a contradiction for me.

Goex is not even close to the performance of BH 209. For a hunting weapon. The inline with modern powder and bullets can't be touched with traditional guns and powder.

The price difference in powders for strictly hunting is a non issue. How many shots a year do you take hunting? It makes no sense to use an inferior powder just to save a few dollars a year.
