hey all i finally got around to cleaning out the trip 7 blue lube and took a good look down the barrel well guess whats there ,about the last inch and a half before the breech plug threads it looks like it was never machined or polished its all rough looking , the rest of the bore looks fine , suggestions please , should i do he jb at the breach only , or the hole barrel ? wont that make the bore bigger > ?as i told my wife once once u have a baby things get bigger lol , i dont want to wreck it now it shoots fine

Are you sure that's not the crud ring you never cleaned out?

Last 1 1/2 inches would imply it is from whatever powder was used in it and not cleaned properly.as suggested before, i would JB and oil the barrel and follow the swabbing between shots and cleaning regiment that SABOTLOADER suggested.if you end up using BH209, throw the swabbing out the window and buy a good center fire barrel cleaner.Hoppes.birchwood Casey bore scrubber ETC.That darn Jon sold me on the bore scrubber, works excellent and even smells good to boot Ray

yep thanks fer the replys guys , but i really think it is machining marks it looks like a lathe cut that resembles a screw affect ,but its jagged ,at least a in or more , i took a look at my old knight that dose have damage down there , and it is not powder crude , my ? is should i just jb that area , or the hole barrel ? its still a good shooter ,and if i dont have to mess with the muzzle end i would rather knot , opinion please
