This will be my first Knight. I know it's just an inexpensive one but it's still a Knight rifle and I expect it to be a good shooter. Does anyone know if the Vision will shoot Blackhorn 209 Straight out of the box?

if it comes with the breech plug that takes the full plastic jacket you might have miss fire and hang fire trouble
you may need the conversion breech plug my vision came with it and shoots Blackhorn with no problems they cost $25. on Knight web site

pluckit, do you know what type of breech plug your Vision comes with?

I know the advertisement in the Sportsman's Guide shows the full plastic jacket version plug in the picture but I read on another site recently about a guy who bought a Vision from Sportsman's that came with the non full plastic jacket breech plug.

I believe Knight made 2 versions of the non-plastic jacket plugs, but these guys will have to tell you which one is better for BH 209 as I can't remember.

From the Sportsmans Guide website:

Please Note: Item does not use the Full Plastic Jacket System. These guns take a bare 209 primer.

Thank you stretch56, quake, and Omega45. I think you all saved me from going out and buying a bag of plastic jackets. Here is the breech plug it came with, with a 209 primer in it. I guess it's the NFPJ plug then right?

YEP it is the NFPJ plug. Post a pic of the powder end of the plug if ya can. Just curious to see what it looks like.

Does it have a magnet holding in the primer? If it does thats the old style NFPJ plug IIRC and there is a new design that is also more BH209 friendly.

Here is a look at the other end of the breech plug.

The breech plug is not magnetic.
