I will put it this way. When i unload from the car to the range table, it takes at least 3-4 trips. Now i just pull upto the table and open the trunk or drop the tail gate. ;)

After 50-60 shots and no lunch break i am fairly fatigued but that's also kinda what im trying to do. If i can shoot a sub MOA at the end of a long day, ive had a great day.

Sounds like me. That group was the next to the last group I shot.

What ever. I posted my targets to show results from trying to salvage an abused rifle. 10 yards was just to see if it would even hit paper, since I had never shot the gun before. And I showed the true over all results. I didn't just cherry pick 1 target with 3 shots on it out of 50 and make it look like I am some kind of sharp shooter.

Very nice shooting. I love my PH.....overpriced oh yeah...But you only live once. What scope do you have on it? How's the lock up and trigger pull? I upgraded with the Bellm kit when i first bought mine(oversized hinge pin and trigger work)

Nice shooting. I realize every target probably doesn't look quite that good but if that's your hunting load, that's the one that matters.

It doesn't make a lot of sense for me to go out and shoot 10-12 rounds and call it good. I really want to make the trip worth while so I shoot - the more I shoot the more fun it is.

Sabot - I am not understanding your logic here. What would be preventing you from taking more than 10-12 centerfire rounds?

Oh! I could take a lot more rounds of centerfire ammo and I could shoot it twice as fast as I could shoot the ML - so there is no problem in shooting the shots.... but how do I manipulate the loads on site. Changing the bullets, sabots, even the powder amounts. Then when I do shoot 50-60 rounds of CF I have to bring the brass back and go through all the steps to reload them.

To me it is just more fun to be able to shoot what I want to experiment with than to be locked into whatever I load.

As I read back through this I guess I really can not explain the why! but it just seems to me that I feel a greater challenge and enjoyment being in control and have variables that I can play with on site... I guess that is why I also do not bother to weight charges - I really do prefer throwing them on site...

Gotcha. I think "on-site" is the key to what you're saying. Because, from a reloading perspective, you could absolutely come to the range with a dozen or more recipes (say...5-10 rounds each...different combos of powders, primers, bullets or bullet weights, varied OALs, etc) and take your time shooting them (need to let the barrel cool anyway). The downside is, if one of those recipes is "the one," when you're out, you're out! Then you have to decide if you wanna go ahead and shoot the rest of your loads or take 'em home and pull 'em.

Yep! you basically have the thought I was trying to get to... it makes sense to me and I am the one pulling the trigger so it works... well some of the times it works...

I just enjoy shooting and the more I shoot and the less expensive I can get it done Hoo Ra! for me...

Totally agreed on that front. I have greatly enjoyed shooting my MLer so far, but I don't get to shoot that often. I am working on getting set up to shoot on some private land (a farm about an hour away). Shooting on public (or even private, multi-member) ranges is waaaaay too time-consuming, especially on the weekends. There's always the idiot that doesn't have a way to verify his POIs on the 100-yard range that wants the range to go cold every 3 shots.

On this farm, I have found a hillside to shoot into that will act as a berm, but the terrain is not flat, so it will be difficult to get a bench set up. I will be able to shoot 100 yards easily, but I want to shoot out to 300 yards, and because of the hills, having line of sight to that distance will be difficult. I also need a rangefinder because of the hills and don't want to shell out for one!

Anyway, I am just now getting into reloading and expect that I will enjoy that as well, but it definitely is more of a PITA than experimenting with a MLer. Man, I just want to get out there and SHOOT!!

I had typed a lengthy rebuttal to your negative posts but then I decide I had more class than that so I have just decided to ignore your useless clatter.;)
